About the course
Empathy is the ability to understand another person’s feelings and point of view, to imagine yourself in their position and to express that understanding with respect. It helps you build relationships based on trust, prevent conflict, notice other people’s needs more accurately and collaborate in a team while taking into account different people’s experiences and perceptions. During the course, participants will become familiar with the types of empathy, cognitive and emotional, learn to use perspective-taking, attentive observation and emotional reflection techniques, understand the difference between sympathy and empathy, and develop the skills to listen to others, respond sensitively to their needs and communicate with compassion while keeping healthy boundaries, in both work and everyday situations.
