About the course
Conflict management is the ability to notice disagreements and tension early, understand their causes and find constructive solutions that take account of all parties’ interests. It helps you see conflict not as a threat but as an opportunity for change and growth, preserve relationships in difficult situations, manage your own emotions and avoid escalating disputes. During the course, participants will learn about the types and causes of conflict, the main conflict-handling styles (for example, the Thomas-Kilmann model), and negotiation and mediation techniques (for example, interest-based negotiation, “I-messages” and active listening). They will learn to analyse conflict situations and develop the skills of calm, respectful, solution-focused communication in both workplace and everyday situations.
